Variant:

Color correction, or dive filters as they're otherwise known, help give general color correction for under water shooting.

When shooting under water, the red for the ambient light color spectrum is absorbed by the water, so naturally, the deeper you dive, the more redd is lost. Using color correction filters helps replace that lost color.

Yellow is recommended for shallow dives, in early morning tropical locations.

Purple is recommended for shallow dives, down to 10m.

Red is recommended for deeper dives, down to 40m.

Grey is a neutral density color, and is used for surface shooting. It creates more color depth, in essence its turning up the contrast, making the blue in the sky a richer colour, and increasing detail in clouds. And as it reduces the amount of light hitting the cams sensor, it also slows the shutter slightly, which is used to create blur effects, such as in flowing water

PLEASE NOTE: These filters slide over the lens of the Hero 5/ 6 waterproof/ dive housing, and are therefore ONLY compatible with this model GoPro housing. Do not purchase these filters, expecting them to fit Hero 2, 3 or 4, along with other cams such as Eken and Xiomi They will also not fit the naked Hero 5, as its recommended dive depth is 10m, you should not ever be using the red filter on the naked Hero 5/ 6, EVER...
